The "PIERCING" ogive is presented as an essential and sturdy object, but it is the synthesis of great construction technology. The bow is constructed of raw AISI316, that is, cold-drawn to increase its mechanical strength. The balls are joined to the bow by TIG welding. The Piercing nosepiece is super short, but stiff! It therefore distances the elastics and allows for a clean line of sight. Dyneema ogive are excellent, but being soft the elastics overlap and we have to get used to somewhat more complex aiming references. With piercing this is not the case. Another key feature is the ability to use the Piercing Ogive on rods with notches and with pins without wear problems.But the most interesting thing is that with this new nosepiece concept we are able to have 5 mm diameter spheres, which are very small compared to normal spheres of 8 or more millimeters, thus allowing a more contained swelling of the elastics near the binding, with a consequent decrease in friction on firing, which, together with the reduced weight, gives its contribution in terms of ballistic yield.
